StartUp Lehigh Valley competition returns for second year

Free virtual event to award $10,000 in cash to local startup companies.

The 2nd Annual StartUp Lehigh Valley event will be held virtually this year on November 18th, 2020, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

The purpose of the competition is to continue to position the Lehigh Valley as the innovation hub of the East Coast by bringing together local business leaders, angel investors, industry experts, merchants, higher education representatives, students, community members and, of course, entrepreneurs.

Just 10 spots are available for the opportunity to pitch for two minutes with a total of $10,000 that will be awarded by Penn State Lehigh Valley Launchbox.

StartUp Lehigh Valley is an idea born out of Factory LLC, an investor and operator for food, beverage and pet health companies. Factory LLC is an innovation and scale-up facility housed in a one-of-a-kind 40,000 sq. ft. facility that works with companies to build value.

“With the support of the local community, we believe that the Lehigh Valley is positioned to be in alignment with Austin, TX or Boulder, CO—cities that are currently hotbeds for entrepreneurial start-ups”

Richard Thompson, managing partner at Factory LLC

StartUp Lehigh Valley will include a virtual pitch competition in which Lehigh Valley entrepreneurs, and startup founders will present their business ideas to the local community and panel of judges. The virtual audience will be judging the pitches via a smartphone application and will decide the “Audience Award” for the best entrepreneur pitch. Visit startuplehighvalley.com to learn more.
