Jean-Claude Dubacher, the newly instated Chairman & CEO of B. Braun of America, has lived and worked all over the world. He was born and raised in Switzerland, spent time in Germany, Spain, and Puerto Rico, and speaks four languages.
He didn’t know anything about the Lehigh Valley when he first visited, but he fell in love with the region right away: its parks and trails reminded him of his native Switzerland, and its central location in the Northeast provided easy access to the kind of cities he has often visited during his travels. He recently sat down for an interview with Don Cunningham, President & CEO of LVEDC, for a discussion about his experience. Watch the video below.
“I remember the first time I came here as part of the process, and in the evening I called my wife and said, ‘You need to see this, this is a fantastic place.’ She came and then with the kids a few weeks later we came back from Europe to look at it again and we all loved it right away … People here are very down to earth and very welcoming. Of all our moves, I think this has been the easiest one.”

Dubacher joined the company as President of B. Braun Medical in 2019 before accepting his current position. He has a law degree from the University of Zurich in Switzerland and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He’s had more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including time spent at Johnson & Johnson covering Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
